More Evidence of Drilling Sabotage Found on Space Station

It was fun poling holes in the recent story about a tiny hole poked in the International Space Station which an astronaut held his finger over until Russian cosmonauts patched it with a modern version of chewing gum and duct tape. Funny stuff … until it was revealed that the hole was not the result of a micrometeorite impact but an accidental drill hole made by a Soyuz contractor who himself had patched it up so the capsule could pass inspection. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the end of it. Further inspections by the crew have found evidence of more mysterious drill dents and unexplained scratches … this time on the outside. Don’t shout “Aliens!” … yet.

“Traces of drilling have been found not only inside the spacecraft’s living compartment, but also on the screen of the anti-meteorite shield that covers the spacecraft from the outside and is installed 15 millimeters away from the pressure hull.”

That chilling revelation was given to the TASS news agency by “a rocket and space industry source.” Prior to plugging the two-millimeter hole discovered after pressure began to drop in the ISS on August 30th, cosmonauts conducted an extensive examination of the area surround it both inside and out. Photo and video images taken of the outer hull using an endoscope (that cheer you just heard was from gastroenterologists) showed more evidence of non-reported-or-repaired drilling.

“During the analysis of those images, traces of drilling were found on the anti-meteorite shield … the top of the drill came through the pressure hull and hit the non-gastight outer shell.”

With that discovery, the finger-pointing began. The non-gastight anti-meteorite outer shell is the last piece installed before the spacecraft is taken to the final assembly workshop. Another anonymous source (see, the Russians use them too) gives this evidence:

“When Soyuz MS-09 has just arrived to the final assembly workshop, it was photographed in details. No hole and no signs of drilling… were found. The spacecraft was drilled later, when it was fully assembled.”

Photographs of the anti-meteorite shield taken when it arrived also showed no damage. That implies the drilling scratches and dents were made at the very end of the assembly cycle or during the 90-checkout. Hmm. How did none of this get caught during the entire 90-day inspection? Have they not heard of fine-toothed combs?

The sources don’t believe the damage occurred while the Soyuz was moved to the Baikonur space center in Kazakhstan or when it was connected to the rocket and placed on the launch pad.

This additional information seems to have been released AFTER a commission consisting of specialists from Roscosmos, the Energia Rocket and Space Corporation and the Central Research Institute of Machine-Building completed their investigation and Roscosmos director general Dmitry Rogozin said the damaged materials would be studied “for as long as it takes” but “within reasonable limits.”

Within reasonable limits? This is the only vehicle in use for transporting crew member to and from the ISS. Would he feel the same way if it was a NASA-made capsule … or Musk-made? How quickly would they bring up the pot-smoking? NASA chief Jim Bridenstine contacted his Russian counterpart and offered assistance to continue the investigation, identify all of the parties involved in this serious problem and insure that the crew can return safely.

It’s not aliens. However, if it’s someone paying the contractor to sabotage the ship or the ISS, who might that be? And why?

Mummy Filled With Bees, Wasps and a Squirrel Found in Poland

OK, all of you who keep saying there are good reasons to be afraid of mummies, get ready with your “I told you so!” A mummy found in Poland (you read that right – we’ll explain) didn’t walk but caused its discoverers to run when they saw it was filled with bees, wasps and an angry squirrel. What, no moose?

“The uniqueness of our discovery lies in the fact that no one before us had the opportunity to describe a case of nesting of these species of animals inside a human corpse found in a tree.”

Oh, and the mummy was in a tree! That fact and even more interesting details were revealed in a study co-authored by Dr. Marcin Kadej from the Institute of Environmental Biology, University of Wrocław, and published in the journal Forensic Science International. According to a press release, the mummified body, discovered in 2016 by a passerby luckily looking up, was hanging about 25 meters (82 feet) up a spruce tree in Lower Silesia in southwestern Poland. Initial forensic analysis determined that it was a man who had disappeared in September 2003.

See any mummies?

The mummy was brought down by Łukasz Szleszkowski of the Wroclaw Medical University and taken to a lab, where they found a large number of creatures had made homes in it. These included the usual (for corpses) Coleoptera (beetles), Diptera (horse flies), and Neuroptera (lacewings). However, they were stunned (and possibly stung) by the unique discovery (in a corpse) of nests containing Central Russian bees (Apis mellifera mellifera) and wasps (Paravespula vulgaris). Finally, when they removed the mummy’s shirt and two pairs of pants, they found the nest of a Eurasian red squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris).

“We know very well where they build nests, how they grow and what places they prefer for life, but this discovery shows us that human bodies, if they meet the requirements of these organisms, can also serve as their home.”

The honeybees and wasps were enough to warrant a study since this was the first known instance of finding them in a mummy. Yes, the body was partially mummified by nature. Dr. Kadej noted a number of reasons why this happened — the body was high off the ground, away from predators and scavengers; it was high above the moist forest floor that would have aided int its decay; it was vertical, which aided in preservation; and those two pairs of pants (no speculation was given for why he wore them) protected the body from the weather and kept it from falling apart.

Hey! Who took my mummy?

Should funeral homes start hiring beekeepers and exterminators as hearse drivers? Dr. Kadej thinks this was a unique occurrence where a dead body in a tree acted like a tree hollow – a hole in a trunk that may contain decaying wood or matter suitable for hives. It tells us more about “the behaviour, ecology and biology of these animals.”

So, not all mummies are found in Egypt or South America, not all bees and wasps nest in hives and not all squirrels hang with moose.

Beware the mummies of Poland.

I told you so!

Scientists Believe This Mummified Hand Found In A Peruvian Cave Is Evidence Of Aliens On Earth

The Medical Examination Revealed Skin And Bone

When the mummified hand was given to Brien Foerster, he passed it onto medical experts for an evaluation. They x-rayed the hand and concluded that it was made of skin and bone, with no less than six bones in each finger. This proves that it doesn’t belong to a human, because humans only have three bones in each finger. This finding is the strongest suggestion that the hand is not a fake.

Scientists Say They’ve Found The Driver of False Beliefs, And It’s Not a Lack of Intelligence

This is why some people are so confident in their “facts”.

Why is it sometimes so hard to convince someone that the world is indeed a globe, or that climate change is actually caused by human activity, despite the overwhelming evidence?

Scientists think they might have the answer, and it’s less to do with lack of understanding, and more to do with the feedback they’re getting.

Getting positive or negative reactions to something you do or say is a greater influence on your thinking than logic and reasoning, the new research suggests – so if you’re in a group of like-minded people, that’s going to reinforce your thinking.

Grave of Ancient Amazon Warrior Found in Ukraine

Here’s today’s pop quiz. If Amazon the river is in Brazil and Amazon the country is everywhere, where are Amazons the female warriors? If you answered “Ukraine,” you’re either up on your Scythian history or you read the latest news from that country that a 2400-year-old grave of an Amazon warrior has been found in the Zaporozhye region of Ukraine. Either way, your laurel and hearty handshake are on their way.

“She loved dear perfume, exquisite lûsterka, and yet she loved…. War. She’s the Amazon. It’s the same as the herodotus. A woman who was at war, like a man, a woman who was well-taken with a sword and shot a Luca.”

Google Translate unfortunately does not do justice to the description on the Мамай-Гора Facebook page of the discovery of the remains and burial artifacts of an Amazonian warrior on Mama-Hora (Mama Hill), an ancient burial site in the Great Znamyanka area of the Kam’yansko-Dniprovskyi district of Ukraine. “The Herodotus” Is a reference to Herodotus, the Greek historian who chronicled the Greco-Persian Wars (499–479 BCE) in which this female warrior and other Amazons were likely to have fought. The “Luca” was likely a bow, since arrowheads were found in the grave. (Photos here on the Facebook page).

“For the first time in this arheologíčnomu season, the expedition that works on the research of the largest in the northern pričornomor mulʹtikompleksnogo, found the burial of a real woman-Warrior.”

Mama-Hora refers to a burial mound which dates back to the Scythians — Eurasian nomads who were believed to have inhabited large areas of the western and central Eurasian Steppe from about the 9th century BCE to the 4th century CE. Knowledge of the Scythians is limited to historical writings of literate cultures in the area and the large burial mounds. The Greek stories of the Amazon female warriors are believed to have come from these accounts and from other burial mounds in which as many as 1 in 5 of the warrior graves contained the remains of women in military garb.

“It’s not even hard to imagine that it was a Bronze Mirror 2400 years ago, a girl who had a hair, and she had a dream about something Under the elbow, the left hands were resting by the bronze of the arrows, the same as the ones that let them out of their Luca, kiss the enemy, the vídvažna.”

Jut like today’s female soldiers, this Amazon warrior took things into battle that reminded her she was a woman along with her weapons. While the archeologists who found this grave are certain this is an Amazon or Scythian female warrior, they’re not sure if she died in battle, from disease or from natural causes. Finally, gold bowls in the grave contained residue indicating they once contained an opium beverage and may have been consumed while cannabis was burning and being inhaled. Ancient treatment for PTSD?

“If you read the histories, you see that on the territory of the Ukraine lived a group of young women, who came together to support each other in war, it was like a women’s school, where women who liked to fight, they could learn and lead such a life.”

The legacy of these real Amazons lives on in programs like the one run by Katerina Tarnovska, who is the leader of Asgarda, a female martial arts group that claims to be a new tribe of Amazons. They don’t cut off their left breasts (it’s not certain that the original Amazons did this either in the name of better aim of their arrows), but there’s no question that Amazons like the one found on Mama-Hora will continue to inspire today’s Amazons.

Plane from WWII Lost Squadron Found in Greenland’s Bermuda Triangle

Being called “The Bermuda Triangle of ____” is never a good thing … just ask the people who have disappeared the Bridgewater Triangle (Massachusetts), the Bennington Triangle Glastenbury), the Dragon’s Triangle (Japan), the Michigan Triangle (you can figure this one out yourself) and the Matlock Triangle (Derbyshire Dales). These other triangles are on land or in the ocean, but none are on ice. That unique distinction belongs to Piteraq Alley, the Bermuda Triangle of Greenland, and this mysterious area is in the news because researchers announced they have found a lost World War II P-38 from the infamous Lost Squadron under over 300 feet (91 meters) of ice in the Piteraq Alley.

Credit for the discovery goes to businessman Jim Salazar and Ken McBride from the non-profit Arctic Hotpoint Solutions and Fallen American MIA Repatriation Foundation (FAMIARF), who have spent a number of years searching for planes and crew remains lost in the area, especially the Lost Squadron – a group of two B-17 bombers and six P-38 fighters flying from the U.S. to Britain in July 1942 as part of Operation Bolero, delivering planes, pilots, equipment and supplies for the war. The path they followed was known at the time as the Snowball Route – a string of secret bases from Maine to Newfoundland to Greenland to Iceland to Scotland. Greenland was a crucial stop – it was the only reliable source of cryolite, a mineral used to produce aluminum for the planes.

“It’s Greenland’s ‘Bermuda Triangle’ … the weather there shifts in a matter of minutes. As a pilot, you can clearly understand why there were so many difficulties in that area.”

By “difficulties,” Salazar means that the Lost Squadron planes weren’t the only ones lost in Piteraq Alley. While the indigenous Intuits didn’t know about airplanes or Bermuda, they did know about the dangers of the Alley – Piteraq means “that which attacks you” and is their word for Greenland’s severe snowstorms that can appear in just minutes. Despite searches, a piteraq likely covered the downed planes quickly and nothing was found until 1992, when the first P-38 from the group was discovered, recovered and restored. Salazar himself has been leading searches since 2011, but it wasn’t until July 2018 that one of his drones using ground-penetrating radar found evidence of something unusual in the ice. They then used a thermal probe to melt through the ice to a depth of 300 feet, where they found red i5606 Hydraulic fluid from the P-38. As Live Science reports, further investigations identified it as P-38 “Echo,” piloted by Army Air Corps Lt. Col. Robert Wilson. (Pictures of the drone and the expedition can be seen here.)

That’s as much as Salazar’s team can do for now … it’s Greenland and winter is already blowing through. Next summer, he plans to dig and melt through the ice to recover the P-38 and any remains, then return it to the U.S. for possible restoration. He will also be looking for two other victims of the Greenland Triangle – a C-53 cargo plane (a converted DC-3 civilian aircraft) which crashed in late 1942 and a U.S. Coast Guard Duck aircraft which crashed in a futile attempt to rescue the survivors.

Are there any other victims of the Greenland Triangle? It appears planes have avoided the area due to the severity and unexpectedness of piteraqs. Also, piteraqs are a low-altitude weather phenomenon. These high-density katabatic winds start on Greenland’s icecaps and are pulled by gravity down the slopes like ground-hugging hurricanes. The Danish Meteorological Institute has measured speeds from 50 to 80 m/s (180-288 km/h; 111-178 mph). On February 6, 1970, the community of Tasiilaq was hit by the worst documented piteraq ever in Greenland, with winds estimated at 90 m/s or over 200 miles per hour. Since then, the Danish Meteorological Institute has been issuing piteraq warnings.

Piteraq Alley has definitely earned its title as Greenland’s Bermuda Triangle. While not as mysterious, it’s unquestionably as deadly and worth avoiding in the air or on the ground.

“Golden Library” Found In Caves Built By Giants?

A little over a year ago, we shared the story surrounding a mysterious discovery, that was once claimed to have been made, deep within cave systems within Ecuador which some believe, were originally man made.

A discovery, that although now concealed from the world, was photographed, studied and documented, thanks to the array of artefacts, which had been amassed by an individual known as father Crespi.

An entire, seemingly alien metallic library, completed with hundreds of sheets of gold, platinum, and other precious metals, hammered out to reveal an astonishing, unknown language, clearly left by a people of tremendous capabilities.

Lost City with Walls, a Pyramid and Human Sacrifices Found in China

There are certain archeological finds that are worthy of being described as something that will “change history as we know it.” Often, the find includes a pyramid where there aren’t any others, a huge lost city, gold and jewels beyond description and, of course, massive human sacrifices. A new discover in China check all of those boxes. Is it change-worthy?

“Evidence so far suggests that the stepped pyramid complex functioned not only as a residential space for ruling Shimao elites, but also as a space for artisanal or industrial craft production.”

When you’re located in close proximity to the Great Wall of China, your identity can easily be absorbed by it. That seems to have been the case with a pile of rubble in Shenmu County, Shaanxi, in central China. Known for centuries as the location of the ancient city of Shimao, the pieces of structural stones were indeed part of a wall, but recent excavation at the site reported in the journal Antiquity and in LiveScience found that the stones were in a wall surrounding an ancient – and quite large — lost city … one that predates the Great Wall by around 1500 years. In fact, while some people were just starting on the Great Wall, the residents of Shimao had already completed a 70-meter (230 foot) step pyramid. Why did the Wall survive while Shimao did not?

Example of a step pyramid

“In the outer gateway of the eastern gate on the outer rampart alone, six pits containing decapitated human heads have been found.”

A team of archaeologists led by Li Jaang, a professor at the School of History at Zhengzhou University, found evidence that a city whose unknown name predate Shimao was located at the site and the surrounding area of almost 1000 acres. Built 4,300 years ago, it would have been one of the largest cities on the world at some point during its 500 year existence. The walls surrounding the city were unusual in that they were made with stone rather than just compressed mounds of dirt and contained pieces of jade between the stones. The walls appeared to be high enough and strong enough to protect the large city from invaders and keep some residents from wandering off … or escaping. Why would they do that?

“Morphological analysis of the human remains suggests that the victims may have been related to the residents of Zhukaigou, which could further suggest that they were taken to Shimao as captives during the expansion of the Shimao polity.”

While the structures of Shimao, especially the palaces and the pyramid, are elaborately designed and decorated with carved jade stones and murals from skilled local craft workers, historians also point out that the citizens were known to the surrounding area as “barbarians.” The size of the city indicates its power over the area and the pyramid is evidence of its religious significance for a culture that practiced extensive human sacrifice.

What caused the downfall of this large and seemingly powerful walled city and religious center at a time when the Great Wall was being built to protect everyone else? That’s still open for further research.

Is this a history-changing discovery? Not yet. What it proves once again is that practicing human sacrifice doesn’t seem to allow cities to survive.

That’s an historical lesson still worth remembering.

The Huge Underground Reptilian City found In Los Angeles

In the summer and fall of 1933, a Los Angeles mining engineer named G.Warren Shufelt was surveying the L.A. area for deposits of oil, gold and other valuable materials, using a new device which he had invented. Shufelt had designed and built a radio-directed apparatus which he claimed was able to locate gold and other precious resources at great depths. He believed that the radio device worked on a newly discovered principle involving electrical similarities of matter which had the same chemical, physical and vibrational character.
